To the Moon ABA Therapy offers home-based applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. These services can be provided in a range of settings, including in-home, communities, social settings, schools, and commercial care centers.

Our treatment plans are highly individualized and customized to meet each child's unique needs. We develop treatment goals based on a comprehensive evaluation that includes indirect interviews, direct observation, and skills assessments to identify the child's strengths and areas of need. The team prioritizes the use of behavior-analytic strategies grounded in scientific research to promote learning, motivation, and development in natural environments, resulting in optimal outcomes.

At To the Moon ABA Therapy, behavior technicians work under the supervision and guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to implement individualized treatment plans. They focus on enhancing clients' communication, social, self-help, and adaptive living skills. Behavior technicians also teach alternative replacement behaviors and facilitate the maintenance and generalization of learned skills using science-driven, behavior-analytic strategies in natural environments.

To ensure effective service delivery, To the Moon ABA Therapy provides a comprehensive training program that equips behavior technicians/RBTs to provide high-quality, 1:1, home-based ABA services. The organization is dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for clients in the comfort and convenience of their own homes and prioritizes enhancing clients' quality of life.

Our clinical team at To the Moon ABA Therapy is 100% local to Northern VA, ensuring that our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are deeply rooted in the community. We believe in providing hands-on support, based on continuous observation and real-time modification of treatment plans to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Our BCBAs work closely with our Behavior Technicians (BTs), offering them real-time guidance and feedback to ensure accurate implementation of ABA techniques. Owner & Founder

Lizna Khimani, the proud owner and founder of To The Moon PLLC, has 9 years of experience in the field across children and adults. Lizna's specialty and primary focus is early intervention. Her leadership skills enabled her to build a team of skilled behavior analysts who share her vision to positively impact the lives of individuals and their families. Lizna's passion for giving back is evident in her tireless efforts to help those in need, and her commitment to her clients' care is unwavering. Clinical Director

Clinical Supervisor / Fieldwork Student

Tatiana Garcia is a dedicated Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst with 6 years of experience. Her expertise spans public and private settings, helping clients achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives. She is also a mental healthcare advocate, a passionate baker, and a devoted family woman. Currently pursuing a master's degree in Special Education, Tatiana's commitment to making a difference in her community is remarkable. Kelly Hamilton, MA, BCBA, LBA

Clinical Supervisor

Kelly Hamilton has been deeply immersed in the world of supporting children with Autism for 8 years, leaving an indelible mark of compassion and expertise along the way. Beginning her journey as a special education teacher, Kelly quickly became attuned to the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals on the Autism spectrum. In her role as a BCBA, Kelly embodies professionalism, empathy, and dedication. She is not only a skilled practitioner, but also a compassionate advocate, tirelessly championing the rights and well-being of the children and families she serves.

Emma Jarvi, MA, BCBA, LBA

Clinical Supervisor

Emma is a skilled BCBA with over six years of experience in ABA, catering to learners spanning from ages 2 to 22. Her repertoire extends across homes, schools, communities, and clinics. Emma is a Certified Intervention Specialist and uses ABA to help learners excel in the school environment. Her dedication to supporting individuals with disabilities stems from personal experiences, growing up alongside an autistic cousin and watching his journey to adulthood. Emma is driven by a desire to leave a lasting positive impact on her clients and their families. Emma is also a devoted dog mom, Cleveland sports enthusiast, and avid traveler.

Arzoo Khan, M.Ed, BCBA, LBA

Clinical Intern

Arzoo Khan is our newest team member. Graduating from George Mason University in 2023, Arzoo's journey in ABA has been marked by steady growth and a profound commitment to making a difference. Having recently attained her BCBA certification in 2024, Arzoo has evolved from a Behavior Technician (BT) to a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), and then to an ABA intern. As she steps into the role of a clinical intern, in addition to being a new mother, Arzoo is eager to collaborate with our team of skilled professionals, fostering innovation and compassion in our mission to enhance the lives of those we serve.

We are currently providing services in Northern Virginia (Fairfax County, Prince William County, Loudoun County, Manassas City, Alexandria City) and the Greater Richmond area.

What locations do you serve?

Medicaid, Aetna, Cigna, Optima Health, Anthem Health Keepers, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna Better Health, United Healthcare, and Tricare on a case-by-case basis.

What insurance providers do you accept?

Depending on your health insurance, the process may take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks.

How long does the process take?

An official diagnosis ASD letter and referral letter (letter of medical necessity) from a doctor/PCP are typically required.

What are the requirements?

Screening

A team member will collect basic demographic information and gather insurance provider details to confirm benefits and eligibility for services.

Initial Assessment

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will conduct an interview, observation, and skills and behavior assessments.

Authorization Process

Our clinical team will submit the service authorization request documents to your insurance provider.

Service Begins

Blast off! Once approved, our clinical team will reach out, pair your child with a behavior technician, and begin services.

Your ABA team will include a clinical director, clinical supervisor, behavior technician, and service care coordinator.
