About Us

To the Moon ABA Therapy offers home- and center-based applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. These services can be provided in a range of settings, including homes, centers, communities, social settings, schools, and commercial care centers.

Our treatment plans are highly individualized and customized to meet each child's unique needs. We develop treatment goals based on a comprehensive evaluation that includes indirect interviews, direct observation, and skills assessments to identify the child's strengths and areas of need. The team prioritizes the use of behavior-analytic strategies grounded in scientific research to promote learning, motivation, and development in natural environments, resulting in optimal outcomes.

At To the Moon ABA Therapy, behavior technicians work under the supervision and guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to implement individualized treatment plans. They focus on enhancing clients' communication, social, self-help, and adaptive living skills. Behavior technicians also teach alternative replacement behaviors and facilitate the maintenance and generalization of learned skills using science-driven, behavior-analytic strategies in natural and structured environments.

To ensure effective service delivery, To the Moon ABA Therapy provides a comprehensive training program that equips behavior technicians/RBTs to provide high-quality, 1:1, home- and center-based ABA services. The organization is dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for clients in both settings and prioritizes enhancing clients' quality of life.

Our Clinical Team

Our clinical team at To the Moon ABA Therapy is 100% local to Northern VA, ensuring that our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are deeply rooted in the community. We believe in providing hands-on support, based on continuous observation and real-time modification of treatment plans to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Our BCBAs work closely with our Behavior Technicians (BTs), offering them real-time guidance and feedback to ensure accurate implementation of ABA techniques. We're passionate about delivering effective, personalized care to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Lizna Khimani, MA, BCBA, LBA

Owner & Founder

Lizna Khimani, the proud owner and founder of To The Moon PLLC, has 10 years of experience in the field of ABA across children and adults. Lizna's specialty and primary focus is early intervention. Her leadership skills enabled her to build a team of skilled behavior analysts who share her vision to positively impact the lives of individuals and their families. Lizna's passion for giving back is evident in her tireless efforts to help those in need, and her commitment to her clients' care is unwavering. Lizna is known for her expertise, creativity, and innovation, and she goes above and beyond to ensure that her clients receive the best possible care.

Lorena Trujillo, MA, BCBA, LBA

Clinical Director

Lorena brings over a decade of experience in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Known for her positive energy, attention to detail, and loyalty to clients, Lorena creates a supportive environment for both her staff and the families she serves. Providing face-to-face, hands-on support, she empathizes deeply with everyone, making her a great leader who builds strong bonds with her team and families. Her warm and compassionate approach extends beyond professional sessions, leaving a lasting impact on all aspects of her client's lives and the field of behavior analysis.

Kelly Hamilton, MA, BCBA, LBA

Clinical Supervisor

Kelly Hamilton has been deeply immersed in the world of supporting children with Autism for 8 years, leaving an indelible mark of compassion and expertise along the way. Beginning her journey as a special education teacher, Kelly quickly became attuned to the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals on the Autism spectrum. In her role as a BCBA, Kelly embodies professionalism, empathy, and dedication. She is not only a skilled practitioner, but also a compassionate advocate, tirelessly championing the rights and well-being of the children and families she serves.

Coral Medina, MA, BCBA, LBA

Clinical Supervisor

Coral Medina is a dedicated BCBA with over 8 years of experience in the field. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from James Madison University and a Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis Practice from the Florida Institute of Technology. With extensive clinic-based experience, Coral creates individualized care plans to help children reach their developmental milestones. Her compassionate approach ensures each child receives the attention they need to thrive. In her free time, Coral enjoys trying new foods and spending time with her dog, Leon.

We are currently only providing services in Northern Virginia (Fairfax County, Prince William County, Loudoun County, and Alexandria City).

What locations do you serve?

Medicaid, Aetna, Cigna, Optima Health, Anthem Health Keepers, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna Better Health, United Healthcare, and Tricare on a case-by-case basis.

What insurance providers do you accept?

Depending on your health insurance, the process may take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks.

How long does the process take?

An official diagnosis ASD letter and referral letter (letter of medical necessity) from a doctor/PCP are typically required.

What are the requirements?

Our Process

Screening

A team member will collect basic demographic information and gather insurance provider details to confirm benefits and eligibility for services.

Initial Assessment

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will conduct an interview, observation, and skills and behavior assessments.

Authorization Process

Our clinical team will submit the service authorization request documents to your insurance provider.

Service Begins

Blast off! Once approved, our clinical team will reach out, pair your child with a behavior technician, and begin services.

Your ABA team will include a clinical director, clinical supervisor, behavior technician, and service care coordinator.
